ED & vacuum pump (Cancer: Prostate board)

30th March 2004
Good Morning - I had RRP surgery July 2, 2003 at the age of 49. Not exactly what I had planned. I lost the nerves on both sides. Initially my hope was to be cancer free and I did not worry about sexual issues. Fortunately I did not and still do not have major issues with continence.

My uro is also a friend so he has been very helpful. He recognized depression and started me on an anti depressant which really helped. After 4 months, I was just plain old horny. Yes - we can have an orgasm without an erection.

Viagra and the likes did nothing for me - my blood pressure went so low with levitra I was fighting to stay conscious. My uro prescribed a VED for me. I took it slow and cautiously - NO PROBLEMS!! It was paid for by my insurance company. On line, I found another one that I like better.

Follow the directions - practice privately when there is no pressure - expect failure and disappointment but keep at it.

After 9 months, I am getting to the point that I am having half erections with no assistance - that certainly helps my moral.

contact me off this message board if you like at maxcyp@charter.net.

Finding someone my age to share with has been difficult!
