I've been on Lescol XL 80mg and it wasn't bringing my numbers down so the dr. put me on Crestor 10mg which I just started yesterday.
I read in another post by Zip2Play to someone else that Crestor was "the big kid on the block" and that maybe a milder med would be better. I would assume the Lescol was a milder med than Crestor.
I also noted that another post indicated that retaining water was noted with Crestor. I take a diurectic now for high blood pressure so don't need any extra problems along these lines either.
I read on the web that Crestor 10mg was the equivalent of 20mg of another statin drug (forget which one..Lipitor comes to mind??).
My question is this even tho Crestor is more potent with one dose, is it any more dangerous than other meds that require larger doses.
Not sure if I'm making sense here but I was tolerating Lescol well so am trying to ascertain if I will do the same with Crestor.
Mr. dr. is also on Crestor 10mg and you would think he has weighed the pros and cons of this as I think he is usually a very cautious dr.
Also is there a best time of day to take this med?
All help is greatly appreciated.
