anyone have any info on natural supplements for diabetes? (Diabetes board)

14th January 2008
Hello; I'm not sure if I'm at the right site, but here it goes... I've had type 1 diabetes for over twenty years, most of it I've been borderline brittle. 2 years ago my sugars were as bad as ever- A1C over 9, and that is with a regime of checking about 15 times a day! I had my worst sugars at night, so I would drink water before bed so I would wake up to pee, and check sugars at least three times per night. I've always been a health nut, so my food and exercise were way above average. Then a freind convinced me to try UMAC brand phytoplankton, and my insulin requirements went from 40 units of lantus a day to 14 is what i'm currently taking. At first I was no longer brittle, but lately I've gone a little more brittle. So! Now I'm motivated to see if anyone else has had any success with any other products-- especially if it would help with my brittleness. Thanks.... p.s. I would just like to say before phytoplankton my rotator cuffs in my shoulders were frozen for two years, not even physio could do much, but a month after phyto, suddenly I noticed they were free of pain! Apparently it has a lot of anti-inflamatory qualities... I could list more benefits, but don't want anyone to think I sell the stuff...
