I am not one of the masses who has converted to a pump -- hence I rely strictly on injections. I take Lantus twice a day -- once in the am prior to my first meal and the last one about an hour or so prior to bedtime. If I have them spaced out properly, this gives me one Lantus shot every 12 hours.

I also take Humalog prior to each major meal. I snack all day long but the Humalog injection comes before the first major meal and then again at dinner and then SOMETIMES at the same time as my final Lantus injection -- but only if I am planning on eating and if my sugar level is high.

All in all, 4-5 injections a day.
