   Help! Don't Know what's wrong (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

4th January 2006
Hi There,

Let me explain a bit about my situation, it all started just over 3 weeks ago.

One Friday night, I felt a little off, so I put myself to bed. The next morning I awoke aching from head to toe, and the most vicious sore throat, swallowing was agony.

Anyway, I thought it might have been the start of a cold or flu, so I let it pass for a couple days, then went to the doctors, and was prescribed Amoxicillin for the sore throat. After a 10 Day Course, my condition continued to go down hill, and once again off to the Doctors and was give another anti-biotic Eyrc.

And still after another 10 days course guess what! back to the doctors and I have just been given Keflex. This seems to have been the best anti-biotic I have received so far.

Anyway, my symptoms have been as follows;

1. Joint Pain, with some joints swelling, the swelling has now gone and I still have some Joint Pain namely in the wrists and the knee. Stiffness also occurs.

2. Fevers upto 102F. Interestingly, when I go through a fever episode all of my stiffness and joint pain disappear for a couple hours.

2. Small Red lumps have covered my torso region, they are non-itchy.

3. I have a red rash on the top of my hand it is flat and just red in colour, also non-itchy.

4. Sore Throat, is slowly disappearing with the use of Keflex.

5. Red Tongue

6. Glands do not feel swollen.

7. I was producing a rather disgusting thick saliva that tasted awful, also this has stopped since being on Keflex.

8. Fatigue, this is slowly disappearing and I am able to stay up much longer without feeling tired.

Hope someone could share some light on this. Because, I tell you its time I find a better doctor. Living in a small rural town in Australia doesn't help:(

Cheers
Steve
