I have heard that pill is pretty bad as far as clotting risk also. The newer generation pills that is. Kariva, mircette, all sister pills.

I was on them for a few years. Not worth the problems. I can not get pregnant though. Be careful and aware of what you are doing if you go off.

Try a Fem Cap or Diaphram.
