I'm 28 and I'm getting the same problem, the joint sticks out to the side on my left big toe. Yesterday I called in at work about it cause I could hardly put any weight on it and went to the dr. He basically told me to wear wider shoes and to prescribed Indocin, which I refuse to take. Right now it's not really bothering me too much, but he told me if there was no improvement in a few weeks to see a podiatrist.
