how long should a new filling bother me? (Dental Problems board)

27th March 2006
Good evening, Sporthorse!
Well, I survived LOL ! After I took my halcion we went on our way to the dental office. By the time we sat in the office I felt calm and kind of detached, but definitely awake. They put me in the chair with a blanket, my dentist talked to me for a bit and then gave me more drugs and nitreous oxide. By then I felt sleepy, but I was conscious, but didn't care at all about what they were doing. I didn't feel any pain, which was my biggest worry. Especially since he drilled out the filling the other dentist had put in just recently and hurt me a lot despite 3 shots she gave me (had told me she needed to put amalgam in there because it was a molar, my dentist disagreed) It didn't hurt at all through all he did nor did it hurt when the endodontist retreated my front tooth. She told my husband that the previous dentist hadn't gotten everything at the very bottom of that tooth (24 years ago!). And she felt it went very well, guess we'll see. Hopefully she is right!
So far I feel pretty good, my mouth is sore from all the "stuff" I had in there today and the rereated tooth is pretty sore, but not enough for me to even take an aspirin. I am hoping this will stay that way. I got a presription for antibiotics, so I am on those again. Next Monday I am going back for a bite check/adjustment. And Saturday I will have a consult with the oral surgeon, so I am still going to the dentist for a while, lol. Will also ask my dentist when I should go for a perio maintenance treatment, soon - I imagine!
Well, that was my update.....
How was your day? How is your tooth feeling???????
good night!!
