CoQ10 and lowering blood pressure... (High & Low Blood Pressure board)

12th May 2007
[QUOTE=beerzoids;2979130]I took 10mg CoQ10 for about 10 years, without any effect on my health. I finally stopped taking it after it started causing an increase in heart rhythm problems and chest pains.

Beerzoids,

Interesting! Are you sure there were no positive/negative effects on your health, other than those mentioned? 10 years is a long time to be on a drug. Is there a test that determines the CoQ10 levels?

The following meds are known to lower the CoQ10 levels:

Statins for Cholesterol

Fibric acid derivatives for cholesterol
(Gemfibrozil)

BETA BLOCKERS for high BP

Antidepressant medications (too many to list)
