Bad Experience With "Slow FE" (General Health board)

6th May 2004
Blood tests revealed I have B-12, iron, and folic acid deficiencies. I've been on B-12 shots for a year, but they are now going to give them every two weeks.

I tried my one and only iron tablet today called Slow FE and it upset my stomach horribly! I thought I was going to throw up, and even tonight, I didn't want that much to eat. I wonder if anyone else has such a sensitive stomach like mine, and have had a bad experience with this or another of the iron tablets?

Thanks, modrijan-- I get to having doubts about this Dr. He seems to want to crack jokes and act silly more than being a doctor! I can't believe he had the nurse to tell me to take iron tablets! I had an e-mail from a local friend who also can't take them. Not many folks can, I'm finding out. I will definitely ask him about combining iron with the B-12 or in two shots taken the same day or so. I don't know anything about availability of folic acid in shots, but after that sickening day from that iron, I'm leary of taking any mineral pills now! The ol' gut is way too sensitive for these kind of experiments from a dr.

Anxiety Man

Go to tri-vita.com and look into these vitamins. They are sublingual vitamins B12 B6 and folic acid. It is a pill that you place under your tongue and let it dissolve, it is suspose to enter the bloodstream as fast as a shot. You are suspose to take one tablet in the morning. For a one months supply it will run you a little over $30 or sign up for two months and get the special offer 2 months will run you a little over $50.
