Tea Tree Oil for fungus in ear (Inner Ear Disorders board)

16th August 2007
I experienced terrible pain in my right ear over the July 4th weekend. I went to see an ENT and he sucked a piece of Q-Tip swab out of my ear. I have no idea how long it had been there, but it looked pretty gross. The doctor said that I had three holes in my eardrum and a fungal infection. He put me on Amoxicillin and Floxin ear drops...at my last checkup, the fungas was still present. He then told me to try drops ( two at bedtime) that are actually used for toenail fungus. I still feel as though I have blockage in my ear and I was wondering about trying Tea Tree Oil...can it be used safely in the ears?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
