My first question is, did you take ANY of the following drugs in the last 2 years
Avelox
Levaquin
Cipro
Floxin
Tequin
If the answer is "yes", you could be suffering from a floroquinolone ADR (ideopathic serum sickness). Make SURE you did not take any of these in the last 2 years.
Otherwise, it sounds like you need to see a neurologist, not a GI doctor. I don't think it is spinal damage, but I'm not a doctor.
