JB, Refresh my memory. Are you still on antibiotics? I found something on Mary's website. It's under the heading "When drug side effects get out of hand".
Here are the antibiotics that are mentioned:
Tequin (gatifloxacin), Cipro (ciprofloxacin), Floxin (ofloxacin) and Levaquin (levofloxacin). The artical says there are others. These are commonly prescribed for sinus infections.
The possible allergic reactions are numbness & tingling, shortness of breath, pain in hands, knees and legs, weakness in arms and legs, heart palpitations, malaise, panic attacks and anxiety. These are allergic reactions but they sound familiar to hypo and hyper, don't they?
Maybe that's worth checking into if you're still on the antibiotics.
Hope this helps. If not, I'll keep looking. I'm persistant when I'm on a mission. :)
It's almost 5am and I have not been to sleep yet. So I guess it's time to put my head on my pillow. Good night for me. Good morning for you.

i was on amoxicillin (aka trimox) until two days ago -- and i took only eight days worth out of ten because my vaginal infection was raging ... it's probably the first time i've not taken the full course of an antiB, but my poor bottom could not bear it ... i've been shooting up with a vaginal gel since i got the antiBs (my GP actually had the foresight to give me a refill of the gel), so i'm on my second box now, and guess what?? it's still not working!! ...

i think that, given the experience you had and the little research i've done (i know they prescribe antiBs for thyroiditis), you are quite correct ...

phooey, gah, faugh, ::headbangingagainstwall::  !!
