I have both and the old term for it is called Schmidts Syndrome. I was diagnosed with Graves after my last child was born so my thyroid was eradicated with radioactive iodine. I don't know if this is still true but back in 1983 they wanted me to have had all of the children I wanted before they would give me the radiation. I am on synthroid, cortef, florinef and evista for my osteoporosis. I just wanted you to know that there are other people out there that have this and it is a real trial if you live in a small out of the way place like I do. I have to drive 120 miles to an endo but it is worth the drive as most general practitioners don't know about this disease. I hope you have a pediatric endocrinologist to take your child to.
