Adrenal Fatigue or ?? (Addison's Disease board)

31st August 2007
I don't know why you cannot be tested but...if I were in your shoes I would ask for DHEA sulfate, aldosterone, renin, ATCH. Testosterone?
Renin and ACTH can be very fussy tests (aldosterone too not sure) and need to be in lavendar tubes, and spun immediately, then frozen. Some labs will come out with chilled tubes and keep in on ice or in chilled water - then you can be assured that your tubes are going to be handled right. Some things deteriorate in the tube and if left at room temp, your results will be lower than they really are. I learned the hard way when I was trying to get diagnosed with Cushing's and the busy lab put my tub in a bin. If it goes in a bin - scream! Call for a manager. I bring my own ice as I know the lab near me messes up.
DHEA will convert to testosterone and estrogen and the adrenal makes it. Renin and aldosterone will give an idea about the low BP and florinef is the med that will help as well as the salt.
Good luck!
