Lump in throat? (General Health board)

7th September 2004
For the past 2 days, I've felt a weird lump in my throat. Kind of like phlegm is stuck. I can't spit it out and I can't swallow it. I have terrible allergies and started using Flonase 3 days ago so it makes me wonder if there's some connection. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm really not sure what the lump could be. I've had this kind of experience before but it goes away in a few days. If it's associated with food allergies, it might be the swelling of the throat. Drink more fluids to clear the throat if there's phlegm or to see if it helps with the lump feeling. Since the flonase is a nasal spray, I don't think it's the problem. What kind of allergies do you have? food, dust...? Hope u feel better soon!

Hi CheerAngel,

Thanks for the response. I have allergies to dust, pets, pollen. I'm real lucky lol. I'm trying to drink lots of water to see if that'll help. It doesn't seem as annoying as before, but who knows. I just hope it'll go away on its own. :)

My 13 year old daughter has allergies and from time to time she gets that feeling. It last a few days and goes away. Not sure it related to the allergies or not but, she is also on flonase. She gets alot of sore throats with her allergies and we found drinking essiac tea helps some with her allergies and its annoying symptoms. Baylee
