I have had a feeling of a wet cotton ball stuck in my throat for about 6 weeks now. The first time I went to the Dr. he gave me an antibiotic no culture. I took them no improvement. At this time when I would stick my tounge out (like to brush it) I would gag myself. So after another appointment he gave me some flonase and told me it was allergies. I am suppossed to use it twice a day. I tried it and no imediate improvement. I got so disguseted that the day after the appointment I stuck a spoon backwards down my throat to "scrape off" whatever it is and came up with phlem? and specks of blood. Did not hurt or feel any better now two days later I have a very sore throat and feels like neck on one side is swelled. the "cotton ball" is on the tounge side of my throat and way back there. If I stick my fingers down my throat (and I have tried this) it is right below where I can reach. Any suggestions? How do I get him to quit blowing me off? Up until now it didn't hurt. He has only looked with a tounge depressor. How far can he see then? Thanks for any help.
