Thanks for the response, my prostate has always been enlarged and I have been treated over the past 5 years for BPH with Flomax and Proscar. It is larger then normal but not to the point of ever being a big BPH problem.

Seeds were discussed and it was agreed that my low grade early stage PC could be effectively treated with IMTR with less side affects and less risk..I agreed. The radiation facilty here is state of the art and I am confident in their ability. I am not familiar proton beam radiation but will educate myself on that subject.

Right now I am of the opinion that the hormonal pretreatment prior to IMTR for my low risk PC is not needed..but I continue to research it

Sounds like you're on the right track. Learning about proton treatment would be extremely useful for you. Just the fact that you're in Florida, and there is an excellent facility is in Jacksonville that you've not been told about, should tell you that your doctors have not provided full disclosure. Proton treatments should be at least as good as IMRT on the cure side, and with fewer side effects. Most insurance plans are covering this. If you look up the book on amazon, you will see dozens of comments on the book and the treatment. Can you post back on this board after you've looked into this so there's more than two of us (charley and me) writing about it.
