17th July 2003
HI you all,
I want to say that its nice getting to talk with you on here. Thanks for always giving the kind and concerned wishes.
I am getting the hang of the tens machine and tonight I felt it gave me the most relief yet. I had had it on for over an hour but my jaw was still locked with the splint in, so I cranked it up a bit, to about 1:00 and put it more to my left side, and it was only 2 minutes of that before I was able to open. I left it on for a while like that. I feel like the muscle on my left side is so in knots when I first put on the machine that I can't even feel that pulse feeling on my cheek for the first half hour. I read the directions all carefully and it explained exactly where my thresh hold should be. I am feeling a bit clearer about that.
Does anyone ever get a shock on the back of their neck while wearing it? If that pad is not on their just right it seems to shock me back there too, anyone with more experience with that?
I hope you are all doing ok. Cheryl, when does Mike get his new splint again? My friend Princessmom! broke her's too. She goes to my Dr. I bet its common. She really did bite hers though. I don't think I bite that bad or hard. Did they ever talk about putting Mike on something called Elevil to help him sleep and maybe make him not bite so hard? My old Doc put me on it. I am going off right now because I want to see if I can. I can't seem to loose this 10 extra pounds and I know its the elevil. Hoping the tens unit will take away the need for it. I bet they have him on something. What is that flexeril like? Anyone? Should I ask about it? What does it do for you?
Well today I started that fun time of the month when all tmj symptoms seem to worsen! So here goes my next few days!
Talk to you all tomorrow, Goodnight to each of you!
Mary
