I took this combination of drugs for more than a year for a whiplash injury to my neck. It was prescribed by a orthopedic doctor to help with the headaches that I was getting after a car accident. In the U.S. this drug is called Fiorinal or Fioricet (spelling may be wrong!). This drug made me a "crazy lady" after awhile. It truly was the worst drug that I have ever taken for pain. I remember that after about 6 months of using this med I was often nervous, paranoid, and couldn't get a good night's sleep. When I finally stopped taking it I experienced seizure-like spasms in my arms and legs. Keep in mind that I was taking the prescribed dose! I've never taken that drug since that time (1980?) and everytime I here the name Fiorinel I get nervous!! It did take away my painful headaches but, in the end, the side-effects were just too awful to continue taking it. If you think you have a problem with it I would strongly urge you to seek medical advice before trying to stop the drug cold turkey. Again, this was just MY own personal experience with this medication. Take care - KathyMac
