I agree with Txhunni. It could be a dural tear. I had one with my fusion surgery. I was released on a Friday and was doing fine until the following Monday. I began to have a spinal headache. I couldn't lift my head off the pillow at all without excruciating pain. My husband called the neuro. He called in fioricet. Didn't help at all. I suffered all week with that headache. I don't really remember much about it, but the pain it caused. My husband said I was out of my head. I was so nauseated and vomiting violently by Saturday. Hubby called the neuro back and he had him bring me back to the ER immediately. At that point I was readmitted for another 3 days. I was totally dehydrated, and couldn't lift my head still.

Don't let this go too far before calling your doc. It really isn't a lot of fun.
