   Getting Discouraged (Fibromyalgia board)

31st March 2004
ME TOO ME TOO!!!!
I have 2 kids and one more due in July-with fibro, si joint dysfunction, migraines, burisitis, ibs, tendonitis, pmdd, anxiety, depression, carpal tunnel, c3, 4,5 cervical instability, etc. plus I am my grandfathers (who raised me) power of attorney since he is failing in health and in nursing care himself.
Some days,I get so mad that I hurt like 90 and only 32. I miss doing hair and working in an office (my before FM life) I still read trade magazines in hopes of returning to doing hair.
I went through docs who diagnosed me with other stuff (and even thought I had serum-negative RA not FM and wanted to try methotrexate!) but no one mentioned FM til I did. My gp doc seemed to dismiss fm but sent me to a rhemy who dx'ed me with FM. In addition to keeping me on zoloft and b4 preg., flexeril, he suggested exercise-I just laughed. I cant even pick up milk, groceries, do my hair or drive sometimes. I do try to move daily and stretch but I walked about a mile total one day and was set back for a week in bad pain and fatigue. I tried chiro, pt, hydrotherapy, to no avail.
I take zoloft, & fioricet (for migraines). I eat healthy so I dont gain too much and add more strain than I already am(8lbs at 6 mo checkup). My body was in no way ready for a child but !suprises happen!, maybe this is a reason from above that will knock my system back to what it was before my daughters birth almost 3 yrs ago when the fm stuff started- I swear that set this off. My husband does his best working like 50-60 hrs a week but that is a catch22 b/c I need his help at home as well. SSD is taking over 2 yrs now.
So many people think fm is a crock. I hate to mention I have it to anyone b/c no one understands it.
At least we have the boards here to share and chat and try to make sense :)
Wishing you a nice warm heating pad and sound full night of sleep :)
