The drugs brand name is FIORICET and contains something called Butalbital along with acetominaphen and caffeine.
I am pretty sure the drug is for pain.
That is all I know about the Drug. I appreciate the responses, but I was hoping for some help with the questions I asked in my first post.

Has anyone had experience or know about this drug and can answer some or all of my few questions in this thread's first post?

ANY info woud help - I am a newbie and am not familiar with drug slang or abbreviations, so please be as clear as possible. ANYONE? PLEASE?

Hi,
My name is emu, I'm new to the forum, I suffer from chronic pain due to diabetic neuropathy. I used to use fioricet with codeine for many yrs due to chronic migraines, but no longer take it. Fioricet with codeine has butalbital, caffeine, and tylenol in it. Fiorinol with codeine has butalbital, caffeine, and aspirin in it. Both are short acting narcotics, highly addictive, and require prescriptions. They are mainly prescribed for migraines, but also for many other uses, such as pain, for short term use, although I used it for yrs.

I'm so glad to be off of it because from being on it for so long, it ended up having a rebound effect on me, meaning, it was giving me headaches instead of taking them away. And very frequently I might add, which resulted in me taking more and more and more, then wham! I was addicted. It's a withdrawal I wouldn't wish on anyone. I detoxed myself once (do not recommend that) and 2nd time I came off of it with help from pain management doc, with the help of methadone. I am currently taking methadone because it works better on neuropathic pain, than short acting narcotics, which in my opinion, don't do much except to get folks addicted, if taken on a long term basis. For short term use, as indicated, it is very helpful.

About Fioricet!

Very addictive, I know first hand I live with someone who takes this because he always has a headache! Well
he takes 4-5 at a time and walks around all dopes up from them, these are more addictive to him than vics, or percs, he gets that to for back pain and would rather have these. Most doctors do not know that much about them so they prescribe them with no problem.

Beware they are a silent killer!
