I am new here. (Fibromyalgia board)

13th February 2008
Hi Sunny and all others:

Brand new, here, and first post.
Thanks for being here!
Much searching has shown me only very negative results/side effects/ withdrawal re cymbalta. Yet, the lab reports great pain relief/increased energy and makes no mention of the impending lawsuits re the side effects.
I'm just trying to find a good mix of med's for my drug sensitivity and conditions.
I miss me, very much. My life has been sabotaged by whiplash, COPD, chronic fibro, myofascial pain, osteo arthritis/porosis, breaking bones, scoliosis, migraines, profound depression/sleeplessness, vertigo and a very high-pitched screech - not ringing - in my ears. It is difficult to hear, through it.
Other than that, I'm fine! lol
Presently, I'm on Wellbutrin for depression, endocet for pain and APO trazadone for sleeping. I was on much morphine but the pain clinic doc switched it, due to withdrawal, every 4 hours. That was cruel.
I've tried a multitude of drugs, with many side effects and pain-block surgery that has not been effective.
The trouble with the sleeping med is weight-gain. A female, 61 years old and 5' tall, I normally weigh 97 - 103 lb.s but trazodone and endocet have blown me up to 115 and the COPD and arthritic joints are suffering terribly for it.
What I'm trying to research, to help my doctor treat me, are new pain and sleeping meds, with NO weight gain, and something for breakthrough pain.
A tall order, I know - I've been trying for a few years - but, I am so grateful to see you wonderful people here, offering your help and expertise! I can't tell you the 'hope' reading your posts and advice has given me. More than I find at the doctor's. There you go!
All this, apparently, as the result of my car being hit head-on. Whatever - it's all here, and not getting any better so I'm happy to have found you.
Enough prattle from me - Nobody knows, (But the doctor and me), the extent of my ailments, except, you, who need to know the conditions of this old girl, so you can offer your wisdom and advice.
Kudos to you, all and many, many thanks for whatever you can offer.
Blessings,

Ann
