Good morning Mel,
My surgeon went through my back, posterior, to get to the operative site. From what I've read on these boards, going posterior seems to be more painful, but I can't say for sure. I believe ANY sort of surgery like this is gonna hurt like HELL! LOL
My tummy is poochy too hun, but not from this. I have had 2 c-sections (kids are now 13 and 15), I also had a "debridement" to take tissue from my tummy to rebuild my left jaw joint due to terrible TMJ. That was the 2nd surgery for that. I later learned I was grinding my teeth in my sleep....AKA "nocturnal bruxism". I've had so many damn surgeries I feel like a walking medical lingo dictionary!
As for the pain meds, I'm on Endocet now...7.5/500 and just ONE of those works as good as two 5 mg Percs. Before my surgery, my regular family Dr. gave me several scripts for up to 150 tabs at a time! I have some of those left over so I'm doing OK in that dept. So, since my pain is getting better, I take less meds, and that's always a good thing. ;)
I'll stop rambling now but maybe I've helped you in some small way. Anytime you want to talk, I'll be here. ( REMOVED - PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE POSTING RULES - PLEASE HONOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT ) Take good care.
