when is pulse too fast? (Heart Disorders board)

19th June 2008
Hi and welcome!

I too have tachycardia.

My resting rate varies. During the day if I lie down it runs from 85-90s if I sit up it jumps about 10 beats higher. In the evening it usually drops unless I'm upset/worrying/anxious. It will drop into the low 80s then to around 75 and sometimes just before sleep upper 60s.

If I'm rushing around it spikes easily over 100.

When I take my daily walk it jumps to 130-145.

My BP is good since I started diltiazem.

May I ask how old you are? I'm almost 53 and my Dr thinks some of my problem may be related to hormonal changes.

I also have anxiety/panic disorder.
