To medicate or not to medicate? (Autism board)

13th August 2006
One thing I never wanted to become is a person who relied on medication to function. I was put on Ritalin at five, which was completely the wrong medication. They thought I was hyperactive, which was not the truth. I was very active, but was always able to challenge it into positive mental and physical activity. I take Dilantin for a seizure disorder, and am in perfect control of my seizures. Nobody but my family and me knows about them. I also take Zoloft for anxiety. I wish I didn't have to take medication, but I'm glad to have the right ones to treat my particular problems.
