For the newbies & all: no more brain fog for me (Lyme Disease board)

Mickie:

I share your joy and the feeling of accomplishment that go with a brain returned to activity. I don't KNOW why my brain is cleared suddenly this month, the only change is Diflucan, but maybe it's also the combination of all the support and detoxing and most of all GOD! My GP believes it's my mind just doing a "placebo effect"! Arghhhhhh!

I'm SO happy for you and for your children who have been through the really bad time with you and are seeing the light at the end of the terribly dark tunnel! HUGZ!!!

Thanks everyone for sharing in my happiness.

Remember when my washing machine and kitchen faucet were broken? My kids had to wash the clothes and dishes in the upstairs tub. I could not mentally handle calling for repair and I had no money. That was quite a low point.

Then there were times when the utilities companies came to the door to shut off my gas and electric. I didn't know where the bills were let alone my checkbooks. Another low.

That was the longest two years of my life! :D

Kathy: There was a lot of trial and error over the last two years for me to get where I am.

Antibiotics I have tried: Biaxin, Omnicef, Ceftin, Ketek, Tindamax, Diflucan, Doxycycline and Levaquin.

Supplements I have tried: Bromelain, 5-HTP, milk thistle, Cats Claw, AG Immune, NAC and probiotics to replace the "good" bacteria.

Currently I take: Biaxin, Levaquin, milk thistle, AG Immune and probiotics. I also take some Jernigan tinctures: Wobenzyme, Borrelogen and Neuro-antitox CNS.

I also detox by drinking a lot of water, taking detox baths and when I can afford them, the foot pads.

I usually followed the advice of my LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor). It took the better part of two full years for me to feel even the slightest little improvement.

Everyone is different. We have different immune systems, different infections of strains or co-infections, different metabolisms, different incomes, different beliefs in the right treatment.

You have to decide what is best for you, maybe with the recommendations from a Lyme knowledgable doctor.

This is a tough disease to beat. You have to wake up each morning and fight this beast. You can do it and we are here to help and support you.

Peace and health to all.
