Mother in law with so much thirst....... (General Health board)

Quote from joe28paws:
Hi,

I don't understand it, and all of a sudden her hair is doing weird things too, her hair is thick and has very, very little waves, now all of a sudden her hair is getting extremely curly about an hour after she blows it dry and sets it and her hair has become extremely dry also.

Joe,

The other posters' concerns about diabetes could be right on. I didn't notice my increased amount of liquid intake, because it happened over time as I developed type 2 diabetes. Looking back, I can now see that the insatiable thirst, craving sugar drinks, etc. was all related. Also, my hair thinned out during that time. I thought it was just old age catching up to me. My hair used to be thick, then it was thin and had no body. Fortunately, once I got my blood sugar back to normal, my thirst disappeared, and my coarse hair returned.

The bipolar link...my ex- took depakote and it made her hair curly, and some fell out. I don't think being bipolar, alone, makes someone exceptionally thirsty? You could always ask on the bipolar board if that is a concern.
