Darvecet is not methadone, It's in the same class of synthetic opiates as methadone, Levorphanol and Darvon, it has some NMDA blocking ability as do the other synthetics in this class.
Meth is actually the ideal choice for RSD.
Live with that pain and you would learn the basic difference between addiction and Physical dependnece which is something we all have to deal with and trade for improved function and quality of life.
Using the same methods to call meth synthetic heroin, we could call all pain meds synthetic heroin or morphine. There is more than one class of synthetic opioids, there are 3, and only one class or true opiates. Those originally derived from opium.
Meth isn't heroin or synthetic heroin anymore than Darvecet or codeine are.

What is propoxyphene?
Structurally, it's a relative of the synthetic narcotic, methadone. It's prescribed in two forms-propoxyphene hydrochloride and propoxyphene napsylate-for relief of mild to moderate pain.
Aside from slight differences-the napsylate (or N-form) of propoxyphene is more slowly absorbed in the body and so has a longer duration of action-the two drugs are identical. Both are found in a number of prescription pain medications, including:
Darvon and Darvon-N (propoxyphene only)\
Darvon with A.S.A., Darvon-N with A.S.A. (with aspirin)
Darvocet, Darvocet-N, Wygesic (with acetaminophen)
Darvon Compound, Darvon Compound-65 (with aspirin and caffeine)
.............................................................................................
Propoxyphene is a very popular pain reliever, widely known as "Darvon", that is a centrally acting narcotic analgesic. Commercially, propoxyphene is usually combined with aspirin or some other simple pain killer in a single tablet or capsule. This drug, which is structurally similar to methadone, has been widely abused and is tightly controlled.

Would it matter how many more drug information pages I cut the excerpts from to expalin that Darvonn and meth are in the same class of opioids, no they are not the same drug, they are in the same family just like Morphine, Heroin, and codeine are in a family called Opiates, There are several other families.
The Keto opiates, Hydrocodone, OXycodone,Hydromorphone, Oxymorphone and another family,
The fentanyls, Fentanyl, Afentanyl, Suffentanyl , Carfentanyl and Demerol falls into this family.
But excepting there are seperate and distinct classes of opioids and opiate anelgesics would blow the whole theory of meth being synthetic heroin. Meth is no more synthetic heroin than Hydrocodone or demerol.
The only opioids structurely and pharmokeneticly related to Heroin are morphine and codeine and tincture of opium. But people wouldn't get the willies if you told them that Tylenol 3 is just synthetic Heroin only weaker.
NO it's not the same, It's in the same family of opiates that come from processing raw opium into codeine, morphne and Heroin.
However since 1979, all pharmacuetical opioids/opiates are synthesized including the naturally occuring Opiates like Morphine and codeine. Heroin is simply processed morphine.
Just like fuel oil,Kerosene, Deisel, Gas, jet fuel, lighter fluid etc all start out as crude oil and through the process of refinement different products can be exctracted from the original base material. But I don't go telling people there lighter fluid is just synthetic crude oil, because that's not accurate.
