   rheumatologist (Fibromyalgia board)

9th April 2006
Hi, I just wanted to know how many people out there with fibro, go to see a rheumatologist? Have had this for 7 years, and I used to go to rheumatologist until he moved his office. My primary, gives me flexeril, and cyclobenzaprine ,but I am wondering if I should still be seeing a rheumatolgist? thanks Margie

I see a rheumatologist. Sometimes I feel as though I could get the same care with my family physician, but other times I think he catches things they wouldn't catch. For example, this last time he worked with me on my posture and he also gave me a cortizone shot in my head for terrible headaches caused by a trigger point in the muscles in my head. Sounds crazy, but it actualy helped a lot!

Regarding your post, is there a difference between Flexeril and Cyclobenzaprine? I thought they were the same drug.

Hi Emmabean, You caught me. right flexeril and cyclobenzaprine are the same thing, I mean to say I take amitryptylline for depression with fibro and cyclobenzprine for muscle relaxer. Margie
