Terrible pain in hands and fingers (Arthritis board)

17th September 2003
I have constant pain in my fingers, wrists and knuckles. Sometimes they shake uncontollably and other times they just have shooting sharp pains. They always feel as if they've been shot with Novacane. I take Bextra but it doesn't help. I also take Lorutab and Cyclobenzaprine (a narcotic and muscle relaxant). They use to put me to sleep but now they don't really do anything. It is often painful just to hold my husbands hand! At first we thought it was carpal tunnel. That was proved wrong. Now, after many doctors and run-around, it has been diagnosed as Cervical Arthritis. I don't have much pain in my neck though- mostly just everywhere else. I'm going to see if my doctor will test me for arthritis in my hands- particularly Rhuemotoid.
