Met with dr last tuesday who added another prescription for Mom. Prescription was for her cholesterol, med is called Crestor. Dr also gave us prescription for a valium, Xanax, (generic name Alpha-something?) 1 mg, to be used as needed when Mom refuses to sleep through the night. I've posted this previously. Mom has gone without sleep for almost 3 nights in a row. Not good for her or the aide that takes care of her. Dr sympathized and gave us this valium to try since Ambien didnt work.
Then thursday night, Aide gave Mom the valium. Knocked Mom out right away and slept through the night. Friday morning, aide gets Mom up, gives her breakfast, showers her and puts her back to bed and goes to bathroom to get mop ready for mopping the floor. Aide said Mom seemed fine. Aide hears a thump and finds Mom on floor next to bed. It seems Mom fell getting out of bed. She hit her head on the night table. She bled a little. Seemed fine. Was conscious - did not seem to be in pain. She got stitches. Hospital checked her head (cat scan), sugar, heart... all seem okay. So... out of all this I am mad of myself  for not even thinking of asking dr what he thinks could have caused this!! The new meds? The disease? I am guessing it would be all of the above and it would probably be hard to pinpoint it exactly... or perhaps it was a simple accident?
Any advice?
