I have cut out all sugars and am lucky to eat a sandwitch a day ( one slice of thin meat and 2 slices of bread) any help I feel like I am starving. but my sugar level keeps going up . i am on glucophage and crestor for high cholesterol too. any suggestions out there

I really don't think you should be starving yourself. Why have you stopped eating all together? You cannot live in fear of you blood glucose levels - you need to eat! T2 diabetes is really a metabolic disorder - the body's metabolism does not become regulated overnight - you may not notice changes in your test results for 2-4 weeks, even if you are doing everything right.

Also, a healthy eating plan is not just about cutting out sugar - that's one small part of it. You also need to be careful with all carbs, especially white flour products (which you should avoid at all costs) and starchy vegetables (which you can eat, but in limited quantities). You also need to cut down on high fat foods as they can also effect your bg levels.

if you just started the medications, you need to be especially careful not to undereat - you can get very sick.
