i know that feeling all to well... but it will get better and as odd as it sounds coming from someone like me that has delt with anxiety most of their life.. it is just anxiety.. its nothing to fear.. its a SOB to go through i know but you can overcome it i am sure of it.

when you jolt awake in the morning try just laying in bed for a little bit and relaxing using some deep breathing.. take a deep breath in through your nose hold it for a few sec and then exhale out through you mouth slowly while counting to 10.. focus on the breathing and counting until you feel more calm.. this has helped me alot with the morning jolts. it didnt happen over night but keep at it and it will help.

for me the biggest help with the hopeless feeling/depression from the anxiety is to keep busy even if you dont feel like it, and facing the fears that it causes.. just take it in small steps.. say you dont want to go out to the store because you feel so bad.. give it a try anyway push yourself as far as you can... and if you cant reach the goal that day.. dont worry! try again the next day and try holding out longer then the day before sooner or later you will meet your goal.. it has really helped me on overcoming alot of the fear and hopelessness that comes along with anxiety/depression.. again this will not happen overnight but stick with it and know you can and will beat this.. it will get better! you will have fun again!

another thing i have noticed is anxiety/depression hates to be suprised or caught off guard.. and what i mean by that is if you get an idea in your head to do something that you feel would make you happy or would be fun.. do it asap! it seems (for me anyway) if i jump on the good thoughts right away and dont sit there and think about it the anxiety/depression never gets a chance to take control and ruin it.. it sounds stupid i know but it works for me and helps me look back on that time and say "hey.. i did this before even though i am fighting anxiety/depression and i got through it.. no reason i cant do it again!"
