I read that Inderal and other beta blockers can cause pulmonary fibrosis and even congestive heart failure. Is this true? How long would one have to take Inderal before this happens?! And how much would one have to take?!
I can't comment on pulmonary fibrosis, but specific beta blockers are standard therapy for those with CHF. I somehow doubt it causes or worsens heart failure, unless the heart is super weak to begin with.
Coreg is the main beta/alpha blocker used for CHF, but Toprol XL and Zebeta are sometimes used instead. They all increase heart strength and improve mortality rates.
