Is it normal to chest pain after being diagnosed with CHF (Heart Disorders board)

22nd January 2008
For a couple of months I went to the doctor complaining of inability to breathe properly, had to sit up to sleep etc. I was treated for COPD although I have never smoked. I continued to get worse and finally went to a different hospital emergency rooom and was diagnosed with CHF and hospitalized for about a week then released with instructions to see my PCP and a cardiologist with in one week. I was released with an EF of 25%, medications (Coreg, Lasix, Potassium and Iron for anemia). I saw my PCP but he must refer me to a cardiolgist. He referred me to one at the county hospital but I haven't gotten an appointment yet. I called to see what the hold up is but they told me that it was in the hands of the CHF clinic and I would have to wait until they contact me. In the meantime I have been having chest pains and back pains. Can anyone tell me if chest pains are normal for someone in my position or should I go to the emergency room?
