Scary way to wake up. (Heart Disorders board)

2nd January 2008
First off, Happy New Year to all. May it be all it can be. OKay, here's my story, I am a 36 y/o male with a dx of IST and a small hiatal hernia. I am taking Coreg 6.25 mg 2x daily and 145 mg of Tricor for elevated tri's. I have had all sorts of cardiac tests done over the past year with the last being a virtual angiogram about 7 months ago. Everything looks clear, thank god. The only issue being the unknown cause of my rapid HR. I do know that I have had for a long time issues with anxiety, I have taken meds for that, but I have learned to deal without medicating constantly. This past month with the holidays has obviously been stressful. I went to bed last night and I guess about an hour into my sleep I jumped awake, liked I was shocked or something. I felt as if I could not breathe for an instant and I grabbed my chest, no pain at all though. I got up out of bed and went to get a glass of water to calm down, which did happen, but this totally scared the .... out of me. Has anyone on a beta blocker ever had this sensation or could this be an anxiety issue? Thanks in advance.
