Patti: Dear lord it was so nice to read about your son and how hard it is to deal with ADHD.
My son is 8. He has been on three types of meds. Concerta worked well but his appetite was bad. He only ate at night after the med's wore off. He is now on Focalin. This med is supposed to help with eating.
My big problem is that he does so good during the day. When 3:00 rolls around I dread it. He also comes home and is out of control. All we do in this family is yell yell yell. I am bi-polar and can not handle this. I have been trying to get my husband to talk to the Doc about putting him on another med for the evening. My husband and I always fight about medication. It took so long to get him to understand that our son needs Meds.
I don't have the answer. I wish that my husband would look into something for the evening. I can not take this anymore. I am so tired of all the yelling. My husband says oh I don't want him to be on more med's I'll deal with him, but he doesn't he just yells
Like I said when 3:00 rolls around I dread it until 9:00 when my son falls asleep.
This is one horrible disease. It hurts me that my husband can not see what this is doing to our family.
