   New Member (Asthma board)

10th July 2003
Hi, I am a new member from Ohio.I was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 16, and I have suffered with severe allergies since I was a child.I currently take singulair, pulmicort respules, combivent, aalbuterol for the nebulizer, zyrtec, serevent, and nexium, to see if it will help with nightime asthma symptoms due to heartburn.Nothing has really worked for me before.I have started doing a bit better with this new regime.I was on sigulair and advair(500/50) together, before, and it did no good for me.I am eagerly looking forward to the new xolair treatment.Has anyone else had success with pulmicort respules?Or serevent?

I loooove the pulmicort. Done wonders for me, and with no side effects like the ones I got from Flovent.

Just be careful not to use it in an ultrasonic neb.

You can also get combivent for the nebulizer, if you're interested, and welcome to the boards!

Thank you for the welcome. :)
I have noticed I feel better with the pulmicort/serevent combo then I did with the advair. My lungs always felt swollen and clogged with the advair. It wasn't until I came to this board that I found out one of the side effects is inflamation.I also have been well more often since the switch.I was getting an infection once a month.I will talk to my doctor about the combivent for the nebulizer. That sounds like it might help me out.
