Drug testing questions (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

I have a few questions. If you take 7 or 10 sleeping pills (over the counter) and a few teaspoons of cough syurp that has codeine will it show on a drug test? How long does it stay in your system? Thank you :)

Codeine is a narcotic (think of heroin which is a narcotic) and will show up as so on a blood test. It also depends what kind of sleeping pill, for example, if you take ativan or xanax for sleep it will show as a benzodiazipine but if it is over the counter it shouldn't. Note, also medications containing Pseudoephedrine can also cause a positive drug test (similar to that of a meth. user). AND PLEASE DON'T MIX WHAT YOU ARE MIXING, IT COULD PROVE DEADLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bella
PS: I do believe the cough syrup stays in your system for 48-72 hrs.

Ya Im pretty surprised that I got this much responce. The last site I went to wassnt much help but here people actually respond fast and are really helpful. I heard theres a few ways of makeing a drug test come up clear without actually giving up codeine. But Im kind of scared to try it and find out they dont actually work. Part of me still wants to do it. But then if I do get caught I lose this job and maybe my future one. I really want to be a nurse and you need a clean record for that. If I do stop, it would change so much. Im pretty much known for doing it. Ive been doing this so long that I have no idea what I would do on my weekends, or when my friends talk about the fun they had when they were high and then I cant get high w/ them, when Im stressed out, or just when things are going bad. Its all I know, I never really had any hobbies and I dont hang out w/ friends that often. But its going to be strange if I stop.
