I went to the hospital on Monday. The doctor listened to my chest and said it sounds like I have bronchitis. He didn't prescribe any antibiotics because we both felt it was a viral infection. After being on the medicine for a few days I've only notice I have gotten worse just today. My coughing is now dry, and i seem to wheeze hack and gag when it happens. The warm steam, tea and heating pad don't seem to be working now. I just switched to cold air(open windows) and cold water. It seems to be loosening some phlem in my throat, but instead of coughing, I'm just clearing my throat.

I don't expect to get better right away, but I do have some shows coming up because I am a singer. I was just wondering if anyone had any other remedies or options I could try.

I've been taking prednisone to open my airways, abuterol inhaler, robitussin with cough supressant and expectorant, tylenol with codeine to ease the pain in my chest and help me sleep, echinasea-- goldenseal cause it builds up the immune system, vitamin c halls defense cough drops... and thats about it.

I'm open to suggestions! Although please leave out vicks vapor rub because I developed a sensitivity to it.
