My grandson was on adderal for almost two years--it was not a good experience. My grandson lost weight to the point he looked like he had escaped from a concentration camp or something, and he would sit in a corner and cry--he became very depressed while on this medication. Finally, with a lot of pleading and pressure from her Dad and I, our daughter took the child off the medication for a year, in which he had an awful time concentrating in school and his behavior became obnoxious...He currently is on Concerta 54mg. daily and Effexor xr 75mg. daily and takes Clonidine 0.2mg at bedtime...With this regimen which he has been on for the past year and a half, the kid is happy, doing well in school, and while the appetitie is dulled some from the Concerta, still eats fairly well. At least in my grandson's case, the Concerta is by far the better medication...
