I started my battle with acne when I was about 40 - almost eight years ago. I never had much as a teen (if any). I get it mostly on my face, chin and scalp. Some of it is cystic and painful. I finally started seeing a dermatologist last year. She say's it's most likely hormone and stress related.

I've used a couple of topical treatments - clindamycin and differin. They helped, but it came right back when I stopped using. Now I just started taking Solodyn - an oral antibiotic. It's already helped alot in about a week, but I wonder what will happen when I stop using it. I don't think is't something I can or should take 'forever'.
