Cleocin T....Dry and oily?! What to do.... (Acne board)

22nd February 2003
I do not have any experience with the Cleocin, but I have tried Cetaphil for cleansing. The Cetaphil really made my skin oily. Could that be what is causing your oil problem?

Which form of the cleocin are you using? I strongly suggest the solution form of cleocin because not only does it work better to treat acne it will also not cause any oiliness. The gel and lotion form are not as effective and actually made my skin greasy/oily so i would ditch those and go for the cleocin solution.

I am using the Clindamycin topical lotion. It is kinda liquidy and it goes on smooth. My derm says that I do not have any scarring. But I have a patch of skin on my cheek which is not acne, but it is just bad skin that won't go away. It seems somewhat red and a little inflamed as compared to the smooth clean parts of my skin. Will cleocin help on something like this? I feel like I am right there in terms of getting clear skin, but I can't seem to cross that last chasm. Can anyone help or suggest something?
