metro gel & Cleocin T (Acne board)

6th February 2003
I've used a lot of topicals (ethromycin, differin, sulfacet, tazorac, retin a. etc.) and the only thing that has worked for my bad case of acne is the cleocin. I use the Cleocin solution which from my experience and my derms opinion is the best form. It comes in a bottle with a sponge applicator tip so you dont even have to touch your face to put it on and you can do it quick which i like. I can't believe how great its working considering the past failures of all other prescription topicals. I have a light case of acne on my back so i also started using the cleocin pads for that problem and its clearing that up too. The pads I have are a little rough so it may irritate your face a little thats why i suggest the solution form of it for the face. Good luck with whichever you choose.

thanks brian!

A couple more questions...
do I use a moisturizer while using the Cleocin? Before or after using Cleocin?

How long before I should notice a difference?

How long is it safe to use? I mean, do you keep using it all the time after your face clears up???

This is all new to me, so thanks!

Lana no problem, glad i could help

You can use a moisturizer if needed and you apply it after using the cleocin, wait at least 5-10 minutes after puting the cleocin on

How long before I should notice a difference?

it depends on how severe your acne is, if its not that bad you should notice results fairly quick. My acne was pretty out of control and with using the cleocin twice daily it took a few months and you could tell it was working tho because it kept slowly getting better and better.

It's safe to use as long as you need it, once your face is clear you'll probably want to keep using it because it'll prevent zits from popping up in the first place.
