getting married in 2 months- please give me encouragement (Acne board)

2nd April 2005
I also was concerned about my acne before my wedding. Not so much my face, but I have fairly bad chest & back acne and my dress wasn't going to cover it up.

I went to the dermatologist about two months before the wedding and he gave me some Minocycline (antibiotic), which really helped clear up my chest and back. He told me to continue using the stuff I was already using (Differin, Benzoyl Peroxide, and Cleocin lotion), and suggested that I use PanOxyl medicated soap to wash. He also told me to use Cetaphil lotion as a mosturizer. By the time the wedding came around, my skin was probably the clearest it's ever been.

Also, I started tanning a couple months before the wedding. I think any sort of blemish is so much less noticeable if your skin is a little darker. So if you can tan, that might be something for you to consider.

You could also try using tea tree oil, which is a natural antibiotic and anti-inflammatory. That's what I'm currently using, and so far it seems to be working very well. It's not as drying as benzoyl peroxide, and it won't bleach your clothes. Just make sure you dilute it before applying.

Hope this helps! Congratulations and good luck!
