My finance got this about a week ago. He got sick last tuesday, throwing up, diarrehea, lots of abdominol pain. On thursday he went to the hospital, they did general blood work, gave him an ekg (i think because he is overweight more than his stomache problems causing heart problems), they gave him some fluids through iv. He was put on cipro for 3 days. He hasn't had any problems with throwing up since about friday, but he's still got the diarrhea pretty bad....he'll wake up at night and some will have leaked out, it doesn't seem to be letting up at all, he's drinking tons but still dehydrated. He can eat normaly. I'm not sure if this is a side effect from the antibiotics or he is still infected. I have been making him eat yogurt, but that doesn't seem to be helping.
Has anybody else had this and knows how long it lasts? I told him to go back to the doctor, but he doesn't want to because he already had to miss a week of work and we can't really afford for him to miss anymore.
