Is moxifloxacin made from penicillin (Open to All Health Related Topics board)

I’m allergic to penicillin and want to know if I can take moxifloxacin or if it’s derived from penicillin. Thanx…
Moxifloxacin belongs to a class of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Penicillin, a class of cephalosporins. Although I don't think it's related to Penicillin this is something you should ask your doctor about. It's just not worth the risk otherwise. I'm allergic to Penicillin too but for some reason, I can take Cephalexin. Your doctor can tell you if it's okay to take Moxifloxacin. Take care.
