[QUOTE=cappy7;2804748]Hi Bill,
What have you been taking to get better? Just antibiotics? Alternative treatments? Nutritional supplements?
Thanks
My LLMD has me on a regimen of 30mg Benicar, 500mg Cefzil (similar to Ceftin), Vitamin-D supplementation (was very low) and 500mg daily Tindamax.
The Benicar and Vit-D reduce inflammation so the abx can get to the cysts/spirochetes more easily (as the Lymes creates inflammation around itself to protect itself from the immune system), the Cefzil kills the spirochetes (or drives them into cyst form), and the Tindamax kills the cysts.
It's been working quite well so far. My Vit-D was half of what it should have been (a common thing among Lyme patients as well as Lupus/MS/RA sufferers). As a nice side effect of the Vit-D supplementation, I haven't had the usual winter blues/SAD this winter.
My doc originally put me on Minocycline, but I had a drug reaction to it and Doxycycline, so the Cefzil was an alternative (similar in effect to Doxy, but a different drug family).
Then of course there is the Fish oil (6g a day), and a supplement called PS1-00 (some sort of serine) to reduce my cortisol levels which were slightly high.
